Situated at a picturesque location in the Raipur area of DehradunRajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium that mainly hosts cricket matches. It is synchronously known as Dehradun Cricket Stadium and Raipur Cricket Stadium. The stadium is a fairly new one inaugurated in December 2016. It is the only international standard cricket stadium in Dehradun and the first international stadium in Uttarakhand

Located in the capital of Uttarakhand, the stadium is set against a backdrop of rolling hills and rivers and can hold up to 25,000 spectators. It hosted its first games of international cricket when Afghanistan played a T20 series against Bangladesh here in June 2018.


Unable to run the stadium on its own due to the large cost involved, the Uttarakhand government decided to hand it over to a private operator to maintain the stadium.


Nine months prior to its official inauguration, the stadium even played host to a glitzy wrestling event by international wrestler Dalip Singh Rana a.k.a. the ‘Great Khali’ in February 2016, which saw a battery of foreign wrestlers grapple.

Apart from the cricket, the facility including restaurants, retail, banquet halls and conference rooms. The stadium is equipped for complete evacuation in less than eight minutes as per international security guidelines. The clubhouse complex houses, among other things, an auditorium and a bowling alley.
